Description

Baked Pizza Tortellini is a delicious, comforting casserole that combines the best of pizza and pasta. This easy-to-make dish features cheese-filled tortellini baked with savory Italian sausage, pepperoni, pizza sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese. It’s a family-friendly meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1/2 white onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced or pressed)
  • 1 (18 to 22-ounce) package frozen cheese tortellini
  • 1 (14 to 16-ounce) jar pizza sauce
  • 1 (10.5-ounce) can condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted
  • 1 (3.5-ounce) package pepperoni, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups), divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 13×9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground Italian sausage and onions until the sausage is browned and no longer pink. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the frozen tortellini, pizza sauce, cheddar cheese soup, cooked sausage mixture, ¾ of the pepperoni, salt, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Add any additional pizza toppings you desire, such as olives or green peppers.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • You don’t need to thaw the frozen tortellini before baking.
  • Feel free to add your favorite pizza toppings, such as mushrooms or black olives.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3-4 days or can be frozen for up to 3 months.
