Ingredients
Scale
- ½ French baguette, sliced
- 8 ounces goat cheese, softened
- 4 fresh figs, sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your broiler. Place the slices of French baguette on a baking sheet, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
- Broil the bread for about 5 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and crispy. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- While the bread is toasting, soften the goat cheese by microwaving it for about 5 seconds to make it easier to spread.
- Once the crostini has cooled slightly, spread a generous layer of goat cheese on each toasted slice.
- Spoon a small amount of fig jam on top of the goat cheese.
- Layer the crostini with a few slices of fresh figs, placing them gently on the jam.
- Drizzle a small amount of honey over the figs and cheese.
- Sprinkle with fresh cracked black pepper and top with a few leaves of fresh thyme.
- Return the crostini to the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the honey starts to bubble and the edges of the bread turn a deep golden brown.
- Remove from the broiler and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Serve immediately for the best texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Reheat briefly in the oven.
- Customize with brie cheese if you prefer a milder flavor.
- If figs aren’t available, pears make a great substitute.
