Description

Heart accents for cupcakes are a delightful and easy way to add a personal touch to your baking. These simple decorations are perfect for special occasions, adding a pop of color and creativity to your treats. With just a few ingredients, you can create beautiful heart shapes and impress your guests with your baking skills.

Ingredients

  • Pink Candy Melts: 1 cup
  • Red Candy Melts: 1 cup
  • Piping Bag: 1
  • Parchment Paper: 1 sheet
  • Painters Tape: 1 roll

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by placing parchment paper onto a baking sheet and securing it with painters tape.
  2. Melt the candy melts separately in microwave-safe bowls, heating in 30-second intervals at 50% power until fully melted.
  3. Fill a piping bag with one of the candy melts and snip off the end of the bag. If using intricate designs, consider adding a piping tip before filling the bag.
  4. Pipe small heart shapes onto the parchment paper. For more complex designs, layer smaller hearts with a different color or add text like the word ‘LOVE’ using a second color.
  5. Allow the shapes to set for about 10 minutes. Once they’re firm, gently peel them off the parchment paper.
  6. Decorate your cupcakes with the heart accents and enjoy!

Notes

  • Be patient when layering hearts. Let the first layer set for 10 minutes before adding a second color to prevent smudging.
  • If you want to store leftover heart accents, place them in an airtight container at room temperature. They should last for a few days.
  • For a richer texture, you can use melted chocolate instead of candy melts for your heart accents.
