Description

Layered Sherbet Dessert is a colorful, no-bake frozen treat made with creamy cheesecake layers and fruity sherbet. This easy dessert is perfect for summer gatherings, offering a refreshing balance of sweetness and a smooth, creamy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped topping
  • 1 quart rainbow sherbet (orange, raspberry, lime)

Instructions

  1. Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until evenly combined, then press into the bottom of a baking dish to form a firm crust. Chill for 15 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Blend in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  4. Fold in whipped topping gently to maintain a light texture.
  5. Spread the cream mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
  6. Soften sherbet slightly, then spread the first flavor over the cream layer. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  7. Repeat layering with remaining sherbet flavors, freezing between each layer for best results.
  8. Freeze the dessert for at least 4–6 hours or overnight until fully set.
  9. Let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Freeze each layer before adding the next to keep layers distinct.
  • Use a warm knife for clean, neat slices.
  • Do not over-soften sherbet to avoid mixing layers.
  • Store tightly covered in the freezer to prevent ice crystals.
  • You can substitute flavors of sherbet to match your preference or season.
