Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups rice cereal squares: crunchy base that holds the coating
- 1 cup white chocolate chips: sweet, creamy coating
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter: adds richness and balance
- 1 cup powdered sugar: classic puppy chow finish
- 1/2 cup green candy melts: festive color and extra sweetness
- 1/2 cup St. Patrick’s Day sprinkles or green candies: decoration and texture
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows: optional mix-in for softness
Instructions
- Place the rice cereal squares in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Heat in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Melt the green candy melts separately according to package instructions.
- Pour the white chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal and gently fold until evenly coated.
- Drizzle the melted green candy melts over the coated cereal and gently mix to distribute color.
- Transfer the mixture to a large resealable bag, add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until all pieces are evenly coated.
- Spread the puppy chow onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it set for 10–15 minutes.
- Once set, mix in sprinkles and mini marshmallows. Serve or store until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Avoid overheating chocolate to prevent a grainy texture.
- Use gluten-free cereal if needed to keep the recipe gluten free.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain crunch.
