Description

Salted peppermint bark is a festive, no-bake treat that combines rich dark chocolate, creamy white chocolate, crushed peppermint candy canes, and a sprinkle of sea salt for the perfect sweet and salty contrast. This dessert is easy to make and perfect for the holiday season, making it a great gift or a festive treat for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • Dark Chocolate: 8 oz
  • White Chocolate: 8 oz
  • Peppermint Candy Canes: 4-5, crushed
  • Sea Salt: a pinch

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth.
  3. Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly with a spatula. Chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes to set.
  4. While the dark chocolate is setting, melt the white chocolate in a separate bowl in the microwave in the same manner.
  5. Once the dark chocolate is firm, pour the melted white chocolate over it. Use a spatula to spread it evenly over the dark chocolate layer.
  6. Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy canes and sea salt over the white chocolate layer.
  7. Return the baking sheet to the fridge for about 30 minutes to set the bark fully.
  8. Once set, break the bark into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure that the chocolate is fully melted and smooth before spreading to avoid lumps.
  • If you prefer a sweeter bark, use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for longer storage.
