Description

This creamy spinach dip is smooth, rich, and perfectly seasoned, making it an ideal appetizer for parties, gatherings, or casual snacking. Made with a blend of cream cheese, sour cream, and spinach, it delivers classic comfort flavor with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed and well-drained: provides color, mild earthiness, and freshness
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened: creates a rich and creamy base
  • 1/2 cup sour cream: adds tanginess and lightens the texture
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise: enhances creaminess and depth of flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced: adds savory aroma and taste
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely minced or 1 tsp onion powder: adds subtle sweetness and complexity
  • 1/2 tsp salt: balances and enhances all flavors
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper: adds mild warmth
  • 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese (optional): adds extra creaminess and mild cheesiness

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen spinach completely and squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible to prevent a watery dip.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and stir until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Mix in the sour cream and mayonnaise until fully combined and creamy.
  4. Add the minced garlic and onion or onion powder, stirring until evenly distributed.
  5. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.
  6. Fold in the drained spinach until evenly incorporated throughout the dip.
  7. If using, stir in the grated mozzarella cheese for added richness.
  8. Cover and refrigerate the spinach dip for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  9. Stir well before serving and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • Always squeeze spinach thoroughly to avoid excess moisture.
  • For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
  • This dip can be served chilled or gently warmed.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
